Low Lands Farm – All About Us

Low Lands Farm has been in our family for three generations . In total it covers 150 acres with Cragg Wood and the River Gaunless running along the edge of the farm.

We have two children , Abigail and Oliver. Keith runs the farming side and Alison runs the self-catering cottages .

In May 2000 we renovated some disused barns to create Swallows Nest Cottage. As it is mostly on one level it was renovated with disabled people in mind.

As you can see, we welcome our guests participation especially during lambing time when we encourage everyone and anyone to take the night shift!!

We buy sheep in the Autumn and lamb in early Spring. Some of the sheep are sold and some are kept for the following year to maintain our own herd.

Cattle are our main concern and although it fluctuates throughout the year we normally have around 200 head. Calves are born during the Spring and Summer months.

Our other animal guests are our hens who give us lovely , fresh , free range eggs and Glen our lovable farm dog.
